About this book:
This book, together with another one we offer, probably comes from the artist's studio.
A number of elements point in that direction.
Both books have been acquired together. On different pages there are ink and paint spots or small pencil marks.
The most significant however is the pencil sketch and the shorthand text on the last blank page of the other book.

Otto Hupp Das Werk eines Deutschen Meisters
von Dr. Wilhelm H. Lange
Published by Verlag für Schriftkunde Heintz & Blanckertz, Berlin/Leipzig
From the series 'Monographien künstlerischer Schrift.
Published on the occasion of Otto Hupp's eightieth birthday in connection with the exhibition "Otto Hupp, das Werk eines deutschen Künstlers" (Otto Hupp, the work of a German artist) in spring 1939
Year: 1939.
Size: 29,7 x 21 x 0,8 cm.
Weight: 361 gr.
Pages: 64.
Illustrations: 87 from which ± 29 in colors and 8 prints affixed by the upper edge.
Text: German, printed in gothic characters.
Printing particularity:
The colour tones of Otto Hupp's prints are not obtained by means of the grid technique, as is used in contemporary printing techniques, but by means of pure colours. This makes colors are looking fresh and vivid as can be seen in some enlarged images. E.g. green is not obtained by a mix of blue and yellow spots but by a green ink. Shades and shadows are obtained by drawn dots or lines.
At least seven colours can be distinguished in the inserted prints which means that as many printing passes were needed.
Condition:
• The whole book shows traces of pretty intensive use and some small paint stains.
• Page 27 has a large blot of Indan ink at the top.
