Approximate translation of the text: 'But to us it is learned not to rest on any place'. Technique: etching (C3), printed on heavy gray paper. VERY LARGE ! Plate size: 20,2 x 15,2 cm; paper: 29,3 x 20 cm. Signed and dated in the plate. VERY RARE proof, with 'remarques' in the margins. Signature, monogram and date in the plate. Very good condition but some slight toning at the edges. About the client: Dr. Willy Tropp (1884 - 1972) was a chemist at the Höchst Dye Works. He was considered as the most important bookplate collector of the world. He was the 1st chairman of the German Bookplate Society.
